Frequently Asked Questions

What’s involved in filling out my application?

There are two steps to getting approved once you are aware that you are qualified.

1. Complete a 21 page form.

2. Locate and compile financial statements for the past five years for all incoming and outgoing funds (checking, savings stocks, bonds, life insurance policies and more).

3. Deliver the collected items of verification in a Medicaid-compliant manner to ensure your approval. The application becomes overwhelming when trying to locate every document and properly present it.

Why can’t I do this on my own?

You certainly can, but you’ll need to deal with supplying five years’ worth of documentation for the financial review alone. As a result, you run a much higher risk of having your insurance application denied and will also have a much more stressful 2–6 month period. Here’s why:
When you’re doing this for a loved one, it’s often impossible because you don’t even KNOW all of their assets and expenses, making it difficult and stressful to communicate with difficult-to-reach financial institutions and obtain all paperwork before the deadline.

The process could be delayed by missing documents, which could result in you missing deadlines and being turned down.

At 123 Medicaid, we have connections and strategies for quickly acquiring the required documents. We are aware of the numerous options and specifications for each circumstance. We’ll take care of everything for you, which will help you get approved more quickly and, more importantly, less stressed out.

I’d rather do it myself, and save the cost of this service.

You won’t save any money by doing it yourself because it involves a lot of extra work and hassle.
This is due to the requirement that you spend down your assets before becoming Medicaid-eligible.

You can only use money for specific, authorized expenses for the applicant (such as medical care and living expenses). Medicaid services are a permissible expenditure. Family members are not permitted to use the deceased person’s money, income, or assets in any way, with a few exceptions. Medical care will ultimately require spending money. Hire us and relieve yourself of a horribly stressful burden instead of paying another month’s worth of medical bills.

What exactly will 123 Medicaid do for me, and how involved will I have to be?

123 Medicaid will:

• Assist you in determining your eligibility;

• Locate, collect, and present ALL documentation;

• Format the paperwork for Medicaid acceptance;

• Guide you through the procedures for reapplication Just before we get started.

We’ll need you for a period of one to two hours so that we can thoroughly understand your situation and go over the records. After that, we’ll keep you informed about how your case is progressing.

What’s so difficult about filling out a 21 page form?

Filling out the form isn’t where it’s complicated. The hard part is:

1) Compiling all financial statements from the previous five years to provide documentation of the sources and uses of all funds. This entails having access to all of Mom, Dad, or your loved one’s financial information, contacting organizations and institutions to request documentation, and then compiling all of the documentation in a format that is acceptable to Medicaid.
2) Ensuring that each document is explicative and clear. For instance, if one bank statement indicates that $10,000 was transferred to another location, you must explicitly cite the document that details the placement or expenditure of that $10,000. The Medicaid staff members won’t search through documents on their own to find the answers. You run the risk of delays and rejection if anything is unclear or not presented in their preferred format. Which documents to look for are known to us in full. We’ll take care of gathering and presenting them completely in a timely and accurate manner.

Dad still has $50,000, and he's really sick. He'll probably pass away before his funds are exhausted, and won't need medicaid.

Savings quickly disappear when a person needs long-term care. The average monthly cost of medical care is $7,500 or more, meaning that any savings are lost in 7-8 months. To ensure that you are covered no matter what, it is best to begin gathering all the necessary documentation for Medicaid months before you actually need it.
